AWS services come with three forms of Internet Protocol addresses, as shown in this infographic. A public Internet Protocol address comes from a form of subnetwork that can be publicly routed over the internet. A private IP address is useable to communicate from one instance to the other in the Virtual Private Cloud. For your information, an instance here means a virtual web server. An elastic Internet Protocol address is made to facilitate dynamic cloud computing. It is possible to associate Amazon's virtual server with any one of these three address types.
